General Questions
- RITcon provides a unique learning experience led by world-class instructors that have been in the restoration business for more than 25 years. Our instructors are certified, extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. Our in-person courses have many opportunities for hands-on learning at our RITcon owned training house. RITcon’s goal is to make your experience as smooth as possible so that you can make learning a priority.

- After you decide what course is best for you, you will register for either an in-person or livestream course on our website. Be sure to also sign up for the certification exam through the IICRC. Once you are registered for a course, you will receive an informational email from [email protected] with more details and further instructions.
- The AMRT exam is $150.00, and every other course exam is $80.00.
- The IICRC allows up to 2 opportunities to retest but requires an $80 exam fee for each test.
- There are different options on how to reschedule with us. You can have another technician at your company take your spot, or you can be moved to a further date of the same course. Please be aware of our $100 rescheduling fee within 10-days of class.
IICRC standards are resource guides the for inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. They were developed to keep practices, processes, techniques, and terminology consistent across the industry to give technicians a universal way to discuss concepts and procedures.
Online Courses
- We recommend using a computer if available because we found that Zoom works best from a computer, but a smartphone or tablet will work if needed. Keep in mind that participation is required for the course, so devices must have a functional camera and microphone.
- If you do not think that you have received the email, double-check that it did not end up in your junk or spam box. If you have not received the email within 72-hours of the course, please contact [email protected] or 540-514-5744.
- The Zoom link for each individual course will be emailed to the student before the beginning of the course. We send the informational email a week prior to the start of the course.
- The manual for each class will be attached in the informational email that is sent out a week prior to the course start date.
- Yes, each student is required to register for their own certification exam through the IICRC. After the completion of the course, each student has 45 days to write their exam.
In-Person Courses
- RITcon holds courses all over the United States, the location of each course is listed in the course description. Once registered we will send an email with the full location of the event and nearby accommodations.
- We will supply all materials needed for the course. We ask that you come dressed as you would for a job site so that you are prepared for the hands-on learning.
- We provide a continental breakfast and catered lunches each day. Snacks and refreshments will also be available throughout the day.
IICRC Questions
- IICRC stands for Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification.Â
- The IICRC is the international standard-setting and certification board for the cleaning and restoration profession. It is a non-profit organization composed of 15 board members that have exponential experience in the restoration industry.They oversee all certified courses in order to maintain a high standard of education.Â
- IICRC certification is important because it distinguishes top-rated professionals with the highest-rated education within the cleaning and restoration industry.Additionally, insurance companies tend to seek out certified technicians when contracting for jobs to ensure they are providing customers with the most qualified individuals. These courses give any professional or business owner the tools and knowledge needed to be successful in all areas of restoration. Â
- Obtaining an IICRC certification is a step-by-step process. Students must first register for their desired course and once the course is completed, they will have to take and receive a passing grade from the IICRC standardized exam.
- Once you are certified, to maintain your certification you must complete 14-hours of CE credits every two-four years depending on the certifications.
